‘The Earth Laughs in Flowers’ – Ralph Waldo Emerson
This painting shows a collection of ‘Beautiful Blooms’. Again each flower has a character, some more reserved others want center stage.
Some are lauded and applauded and shown as centerpieces at weddings and funerals.
Some flowers have celebrity status and are exhibited as if catwalk models at Floral exhibitions.
While others are gentle, earthy and original.
Together they compliment each other and it much like our human society, depicting how different we all are. Our characters described vaguely through our clothing. Much like the petals of these Beautiful Blooms.
The brilliant colours of the Blooms against the dark background makes a wonderfully bold statement for any room.

Out of the Red
‘A Flower Blossoms For it’s own Joy” – Oscar Wilde
This painting is called ‘Out Red’ due to its’ mostly monotonal depiction. It is a semi abstract that seems to emerge from the background.
The flowers mysteriously stand loud and proud, they most have secretly accomplished a world record.
I marvel at their similarities and distinct differences. They are all so intracately designed each detail crafted by a master.
I believe nature in all its forms is just so good for us both our mental and physical well being. A vase full of fresh flowers brightens a space and ignites the senses. Some are wonderfully scented, something unseen but so present embuing surounds with a whisper of romance and mystery.
The design, details, colour, feel, smell is so powerful and almost overwhelming.
I hope this painting makes you happy, curious and humbled by the inspiration.
Into the Pink

Daisies are beautifully simple, which makes them seem less daunting. However if you look closely you will find that the daisy is made of two floral structures, the centre has tiny disc florets and the outer are the petals.
Throughout time the daisy has been celebrated for their simple yet beautiful elegance.
The Namaqualand Daisies are famous and draw tourists worldwide. The Daisies arrive after the rains and carpet the once desert like Norhtern Cape with a carpet of golden blooms.
Daisies have a routine and will geneerally open their petals at about ten am when the Sun is up and start closing their petals at 4pm. This protects them from insects, the damp and maintains their temperature.
Daisies love the Sun and always turn their heads towards the Sun.
Flowers in a Puddle
“Flowers don’t worry about how they are going to bloom, they open up towards the light and that makes them beautiful” Jim Carrey
I found these tiny little flowers in a puddle in the mountains, I knelt down and studied them for a while. They were in a mess of water and small rocks, their life did not come without struggle.
How brave and victorious they are, raising their heads towards the sun. In this tiny puddle is all the inspiration a person should ever need.
From tiny seeds these blooms arrived, to stay for a while and then their time is done and more will take their place. The new ones rise and shine and again adorn the puddle with crowns. Within that tiny puddle a whole world resides, quite incredible.
